Fall colors are my jam. Fall in general is my jam. I love fall, and love dressing for it. However, living in Florida doesn’t make that super easy. I work in an office every day, and while generally, we dress pretty casual, this dress is perfect for the days we have meetings. It gives off a “fall vibe” without making me feel like I’m melting. I love that it is professional, conservative, and fun. It’s hard to find a dress that is office appropriate and still fun! The under $20 price tag doesn’t hurt either! No matter the dress, a dark lip can completely change the look into season-appropriate wear.
In other news, if you follow me on any form of social media, you know: WE GOT ENGAGED! The post after this will have the whole story! My fiancé and I have been together for almost 7 years (in November) and we are so so excited! Planning a wedding is definitely one of the more stressful things I have ever done though. I have a really hard time wrapping my mind around spending so much money on just a few hours (albeit the best hours ever) when that money could be used for so many other things. This mentality is not helping me at all in the search for a venue and so on. It doesn’t help that Miami prices are through-the-roof, and the vision I have is completely anti-Miami, anti-beach, and anti-tropical.
I am SO open to hearing ideas. I would love a backyard wedding but don’t have a backyard with pretty (and large) trees. I have even been browsing AirBNB and VRBO for houses with pretty backyards that allow events… ANYONE RENTING THEIR BACKYARD? I feel like I should put something out on Craigslist… Ha. All jokes aside, I am open to hearing ideas in hopes I haven’t already contacted the venue.
xoxo,
Savannah Jayne
PS- Looking back at these photos pre-engagement, my hand looks so bare without my new favorite accessory… I’m obsessed.
