Hi friends, and welcome to the first (of many) Wedding Wednesday posts! Our wedding may have passed, but this is something I wanted to do throughout my engagement and honestly just didn’t have the time. I figured all of the things I learned and found while planning my wedding weren’t doing any good sitting in my brain – SO I want to share it! If you are a bride planning a wedding, a bridesmaid, a mother of the bride, or just plan on being in a wedding/having a wedding someday this series is for you! From honeymoon planning tips to choosing your dessert I will be sharing it ALL over the next few months!
Speaking of bridesmaids, have you looked into what you plan on gifting your maids? This is not in everyone’s budget, however I truly think it should be added, even if it’s something small – they’ve done so much, they deserve the best!
I searched HIGH and LOW for bridesmaid gifts. I had a tight budget allocated to this but really did want to spoil my girls because they do so much for me and I am so grateful for them. I figured the best way to help brides through this was outlining each place to get gifts and what the ups and downs are about each. Keep reading to grab links on what I got my gals!
This was tough for me. I originally decided I did not want to do robes, I wanted to do something different. The men’s t-shirt look didn’t really match the theme, but rompers did. I looked forever (even before I was engaged- haha!) for decently priced rompers and honestly had such a tough time finding any in my price range. I then moved on to PJ’s — I loved these from target, but they never had the right color pink that I was looking for, so I eventually passed on those as well. I fell in love with robes and rompers from Show Me Your MuMu, but in the end just couldn’t afford them. I then started to search for something similar. I moved onto Etsy, I loved a lot, but most were still somewhat expensive (when you are looking for 6 of them), and I was discouraged that if I didn’t like them in person, I wouldn’t be able to exchange or return them (at least for the sellers I liked). My biggest trouble, was that I had been in a few weddings prior to mine, and I didn’t want to use the same robes that they did. Keep in mind, there are affordable robes on Etsy — just not for what I was looking for…
I didn’t know where to go from there. I was so discouraged. One night I did an online search and The Knot Shop came up. I decided to check it out even though I figured they would be way out of my price range. They weren’t! What I loved most, was that I could return them if I didn’t like them in person. I knew they would be in so many photos and wanted to be sure I was covered if they looked off. They have sales often and their robes are SUCH high quality, which was so nice to know that they would last the girls a long time. They also had matching flower girl robes if you are looking for that, and you could personalize the robes (keep in mind this makes it final sale, hence why I held off). I really loved The Knot Shop!
You can find my robe (actually a romper!) here!
Personalized Champagne Glasses
These were also tricky to find. Most personalized champagne glasses are plastic so they are shatterproof, but I knew I definitely wanted glass. Finding these for a good deal was pretty tough but I found them on Etsy (I didn’t shop around to other places, because I wanted them personalized), and they came out so beautiful! I decided to use the girls name rather than their title (ie. Bridesmaid, Maid of Honor) so they could use them after the wedding as well. I was able to buy the pack of 7 and customize it so that 6 were in rose gold and 1 was in white! (Found the straws at Target!)
Velvet Hangers
I decided not to go with personalized hangers, partly because they were out of my budget, and also because I didn’t know really if they would be useful past the day of the wedding. I bought a pack of 25 pink velvet hangers from Ross (I needed some for my closet too so it worked great) for like $9.99. They had gold hardware and looked so cute with the girls mismatched pink dresses.
Earrings
Since my bridesmaids all had different dresses and they were such different styles, I didn’t want to do a necklace because of the varying necklines. I also figured bracelets wouldn’t quite match with everyone’s dress, so chose earrings instead. I grabbed these cute ones from Francesca’s online. They were on sale when I bought them and I put them in mesh drawstring bags from the dollar store. It was a cute addition and all my girls ended up loving them and wearing them that day! I chose these specifically because they weren’t too busy, but still made a statement. These exact earrings are no longer available, but I have linked similar options also on sale in the “Shop The Post” section below! Other places I loved, but just couldn’t find the right ones were World Market & the J. Crew Outlet!
Tote Bags
I wasn’t originally going to do bags until one day I was shopping at Marshalls and these magically appeared. I was instantly obsessed and they were only $4.99 each (the MOH ones were even on sale for $4.50). I grabbed them immediately. The day of, you end up with (more than likely) a mess of a bridal suite, things get tossed around and is not as neatly packed into bags as it was when you arrived. This usually causes you to have things that don’t fit in bags, etc., so these bags were great for overflow for the girls! I linked some similar options in the slider at the bottom of this post!
I hope this helped all of you planning a wedding (or those who plan to be in the near future). I was so happy with the quality and cost of everything that I purchased. You can find some things cheaper than I did, but quality was really important to me and I really wanted to spoil them where I could. If you have any questions on items I chose/quality/stores, don’t hesitate to email, DM, or comment below and I would love to help in any way I can.
Cheers to the best bridal party — I love y’all so much!
xoxo,
Savannah Jayne
